CommunicationsCommunications manages electronic equipment for RUSD. From the audio-visual equipment that has become critical to classroom instruction to the intercom systems that promote school-wide communication, Communications personnel tackles a wide variety of tasks of ever changing complex technical demands. Unique among these duties is the operation of an in-house service bureau for the repair and maintenance all of the District's copy machines. School security is also an important part of the Communications group's responsibilities including the installation and service of closed circuit televisions and repair and maintenance of hand held radios and fire and intruder alarm systems. This includes servicing and testing more than 25,000 fire alarms every year. Communications also operates the mailroom for RUSD, handling a half million pieces of mail per year, facilitating critical internal communications for the District.
