King High School

King High School was the only high school in the District without an aquatic facility. The new competition grade pool and 9,100 square foot support building were a part of an overall facilities program that included new student parking, lunch shelters, and a new stadium.

Ten new lunch shelters, six in the "G" quad and four in the "H" quad now supply 4,800 square feet of badly needed shaded area at RUSD's most populous high school. Extensive re-routing of underground utilities was a significant challenge for this project and RUSD staff was able to contribute solutions that resulted in significant savings to the District.

In addition, a new 4.500 stadium with bleachers and field lighting gave a new home field to King's athletic teams as well as new locker areas.
